2025 Healthcare Assistant Lourdes Pilgrimage
We’re looking for people to join our incredible and committed team of volunteers and play a vital role in our 2025 Diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes. As a volunteer you’ll be supporting people from across our Diocese who are sick, disabled and/or elderly and whose participation in our pilgrimage is only made possible with the assistance of volunteer members of the Pilgrimage Medical and Nursing team.
As a Volunteer Healthcare Assistant, you will be an integral part of a compassionate team, working alongside Registered Nurses to deliver high-quality care. You will be part of a rota system to ensure 24-hour coverage, collaborating with both medical and non-medical volunteers, including young people over the age of 16, who provide general support to pilgrims. Flexibility is key, as the hotel where care is delivered needs to be staffed at all times. Shifts typically involve two daytime shifts and one overnight shift. New volunteers will receive training in advance and guidance from experienced nurses and work as part of a team to ensure the effective delivery of care and support to our pilgrims.
