2024 Medical and Nursing Team Lourdes Pilgrimage
We’re looking for people to join our incredible and committed team of volunteers and play a vital role in our 2024 Diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes. As a volunteer you’ll be supporting people from across our Diocese who are sick, disabled and/or elderly and whose participation in our pilgrimage is only made possible with the assistance of volunteer members of the Pilgrimage Medical and Nursing team.
Medical and Nursing pilgrimage volunteers, work under the direction of the relevant co-ordinators and have either current GMC or NMC registration or have evidence of NVQ training in the delivery of care or have evidence of experience and training in the care environment. They provide 24-hour support to those pilgrims requiring medical and nursing care throughout the duration of the pilgrimage. These pilgrims may be referred to as ‘Accueil pilgrims’ and will stay in the Hotel Solitude. In addition to trained nurses, we also welcome Health Care Assistants and Medical/Nursing students. The pilgrimage provides a unique opportunity for the team to work together, learn from each other and share enthusiasm and expertise.
